Imagination Library

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth until age five, no matter their family’s income. Great Rivers United Way is proud to bring this early literacy program to children living in select counties in Crawford, Grant, and Jackson counties.

How Imagination Library works
All children under age four years and nine months (4 years, 9 months) residing in ZIP Codes 53821, 53805, 54657, 53826, 53827, 54631, and 54615 (Black River Falls program not available until March 1, 2026) are eligible to participate. After registering, the first book, “The Little Engine That Could,” will take up to 10 weeks to arrive directly to your home. Your child will then receive one high-quality, age-appropriate book each month until they turn five.

Black River Falls Launch Party
Our Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program will begin servicing ZIP Code 54615 on March 1, 2026. All Black River Falls families, especially those with qualifying children ages birth-to-four years and nine months old, are invited to join us for a Launch Party at the Black River Falls Public Library on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
